Love for INDIA

As we all Indians say "East or West INDIA is the BEST", yes and I totally agree that it is the truth.

I have a total love for India so I am reading a lot about my country and trying to write it for me and others too.

India is popularly known as Bharat and officially known as Republic of India (Bharat Ganrajya). It is a South Asian country with a diverse terrain that range from Himalayas to the Indian Ocean.

India is known for its religious diversity and secularism, with Hinduism, Islam, Sikkhism, Christianity, Buddhism and Jainism among the nation's major religions.

It is my country and I love it as it has contributed a lot to the world’s culture in the field of Art and architecture, literature, cuisine, society, clothing, sports etc….

• It is 7^th largest country by area.
• The 2^nd most populous country in the world.
• The biggest democracy in the world.

• Capital of India is New Delhi.

• Current President of India is Ram Nath Kovind

• Current Prime Minister of India is Narendra Modi

• Currency of India is Indian Rupee.

Some interesting facts about India that I am proud of:

• India was an island around 100 million years ago
• We have the world’s third largest active army after China and USA.
• The Tirupati Balaji temple and the Kashi Vishwanath Temple both, receive more visitors than the Vatican City and Mecca combined.
• A religious gathering occurs every 12 years in India which is called Kumbh. It is the largest gathering of people in the whole world, it is such large that it is visible from space.
• We are the third largest Muslim population in the world.
• We are the largest producers of films in the world.
• We are the largest milk producer in the world.
• We are the world’s third largest economy.
• We make supercomputers. Only US and Japan do that.
• We have the largest number of vegetarians and we made KFC introduce a VEGETARIAN menu for us. 😊
• May 26 is celebrated as the Science Day in Switzerland in honour of former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, because on the day, Kalam visited the country. Proud of you SIR…
• We are the largest importer of arms but we have never attacked or invaded a country. We love peace 😊
• Chess was invented in India.
• Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus are studies, which originated in India.
• We have the world’s largest family. A man with 39 wives, 94 children, 14 daughter in laws and 33 grandchildren. Yohoo!!!!

I like to understand India's cultures, customs, cuisine, society, art, literature and a lot more.
